No problem is meant to be faced alone! Our groups offer a safe, supportive space to bring your story out into the open, to share where you’ve been and, more importantly, to claim where you are going. When we stand up to life’s challenges, having others by our side turns individual struggles into shared strength. Here, you’ll connect with people on similar journeys, reshaping your story alongside a community that truly gets it. By bringing our stories out of the dark and into a supportive community, we find the solidarity, witness, and strength needed to rewrite what comes next.
What is a Support Group?
At Mountain View Therapy (MVT), we offer Support Groups. Please note that a support group is NOT a therapy group. A support group helps people cope with shared life circumstances through peer connection. It does not provide diagnosis, treatment, or clinical care, and it is not a substitute for therapy. The facilitator is not acting as a therapist in this group.
Payment:
Insurance does not cover payment for support groups. Because groups at MVT are support groups rather than therapy, it is not a billable clinical service and cannot be submitted to insurance. We use a sliding scale instead, which reflects our commitment to equity and accessibility.
When members commit to the group, they will select a sliding scale option that is financially feasible for them. Below is the sliding scale model we will use. If you need help choosing the right option, please use the Green Bottle Graphic here.
Tier 1, Supported - $20
Tier 2, Standard - $30
Tier 3, Pay it Forward - $40
PLEASE NOTE: When you commit to joining one of our groups, you are committing to paying for every group meeting, even if you are unable to attend. Group members will be charged weekly within the week following the group meeting.
Living with chronic pain or illness can often feel like an isolating journey—but you don’t have to navigate it alone. This support group offers a flexible, community-led space to share your lived experience with others who truly understand. Each session introduces a suggested theme—such as navigating ableism, identity and grief, family dynamics, or system fatigue—while leaving plenty of room for organic conversation. Whether we stick to the topic, break into smaller groups, or pivot to what matters most to you that day, this space is shaped by the people in it.

This support group, rooted in the Narrative practice of Outsider Witnessing, will serve as a way to weave your life with others and reflect on the ways we impact each other.
