Bailey is a therapist, supervisor, and co-founder of Mountain View Therapy who is passionate about Narrative Therapy and its ability to help people separate themselves from the problems they're experiencing. She believes therapy can create space for people to reconnect with their values, recognize overlooked stories about themselves, and explore new possibilities for their lives.

I don't believe that therapists are the experts on other people's lives. I approach therapy with curiosity and see the people I work with as bringing their own knowledge, values, relationships, histories, and experiences into our conversations.
I'm interested in understanding problems without allowing those problems to become definitions of who you are. Together, we might explore how a problem came to have influence in your life, the ideas and expectations that support it, and moments when you've responded to it in ways that say something important about what matters to you.
I also believe therapy can make room for humor, connection, creativity, and the parts of ourselves that problems sometimes make harder to see.

One of the ideas I love most about Narrative Therapy is that the person is not the problem; the problem is the problem.
Too often, people come to understand themselves through the difficulties they've experienced or the labels they've been given. Narrative Therapy invites us to question those descriptions and become curious about the many other stories that exist in our lives.
I'm particularly interested in how social systems, cultural expectations, and relationships influence the stories we tell about ourselves. I believe people have knowledge, skills, values, and commitments that can sometimes become difficult to see when problems take up too much space.
My hope is that our conversations help bring those overlooked stories forward. I don't want to replace difficult experiences with artificially positive ones, but to make room for a fuller, richer understanding of who you are.
I received my bachelor's degree from Syracuse University and my Master of Social Work from Simmons University. Before founding Mountain View Therapy, I worked in community mental health, where my experiences strengthened my commitment to collaborative, socially conscious approaches to therapy.
I co-founded Mountain View Therapy because I wanted to create a practice where Narrative Therapy wasn't simply one technique among many, but a philosophy that shaped how we think about people, problems, relationships, supervision, and community.
Today, in addition to my clinical work, I serve as MVT's Clinical Director and provide supervision and mentorship to therapists developing their Narrative Therapy practice.
