I approach therapy with curiosity about how you understand yourself, the experiences that have shaped you, and the things that matter most in your life.
I'm particularly interested in creating space to explore identity without assuming there is one right way to understand yourself or one destination you need to reach. I want our conversations to make room for your own knowledge and preferred ways of living.
Understanding Identity with Gender and Sexuality • Impacts of Trauma • Improving Relationships with Food or Body Image• How to Stand Up to Anxiety, Depression, Shame and Guilt
I'm passionate about the Narrative worldview both in my therapeutic work and in my own life. I'm interested in the stories we develop about ourselves, how those stories are shaped by our experiences and the world around us, and the meaning we make from them.
Narrative Therapy gives us opportunities to become curious about stories that may feel limiting or overly influential while paying closer attention to experiences that reflect who we are, what we value, and how we prefer to live.
I grew up in Pennsylvania and knew from a young age I wanted to work with the LGBTQIA+ community after my dad came out as gay when I was a child. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Social Work from the University of Pittsburgh and started my career in community organizing for economic justice and affordable housing. I continued at the University of Pittsburgh for my Master of Social Work, which I completed in 2019. My experience since that time has included working with trans youth and their families in providing gender affirming care, supporting integrated healthcare for LGBTQIA+ individuals of all ages and working with individuals in eating disorder higher levels of care. I identify as lesbian and queer. In my free time, I enjoy writing poetry, dancing, time in nature, and time with all the people I’m lucky to love.
